Memories.....

What happened to her – I asked him. She left me. She became the wind whose freedom always attracted her, became the water whose unstoppable nature always gave her happiness. She became the sky she always wanted to achieve. She left me to get away from the sorry state of this world. She died, doctor…… she died. Being a shrink is one of the toughest things in the world. You have to listen to people who are totally distraught, have lost their will to live, or are homicidal and suicidal in nature. One thing about pain is that it’s so infectious; you cannot be in presence of it and not get affected. But still I was doing my job pretty well, until one of my friends called me up and asked me to help this guy who has totally flipped out recently. So the next day he was in my office and I could understand my friend’s concern. The guy looked like he was very smart, destined to excel and yet, as life always like to play with such people,  was in a pretty rough shape. I asked him to ...

moon and the sea

They say that the time and tide wait for none. If only they had known the truth……. Like every story worth listening to, this one also starts with once upon a time. And if you wanna know about that time, you’ll have to go way back………. So once upon a time when nothingness prevailed and the world as we know it didn't come into existence, there lived the mighty sea. The sea was immense, eternal and ethereal. The sea knew everything, the sea could do anything and yet the sea was at peace with himself. The closest thing that could compete with might of sea was the sun, but the sun had a duty, to roam the sky during the day, but the sea didn't have to do anything he didn't want to. He was free; after all he was the sea. But as it happens, things have a way of falling apart, even for the mightiest of beings. One day while roaming freely, the sea encountered something that was totally new to him. He saw a woman, a woman glowing so brightly that is almost blinded him. T...

The night when she came

It has been said that sometimes in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives you a fairy tale. And for the rest of us there always is alcohol.  So on one of those days when the latter had served me well, I was on my rooftop, the world spinning (no, I mean literally) as usual as it does on Friday nights, I was pondering over why my country is in such a bad shape, why the rupee is falling faster than our moral values and why the hell is Ben Affleck the new batman. I was thinking about her as well, but I don’t think I need to mention that, after all I think about her all the time. And then suddenly I felt someone’s presence at my side and a chill went down my spine. Now I’m not a believer in ghosts but let’s face it, its 1’o clock in the morning. So I turn around and find someone who’s not a ghost but can only be the stuff of a legend. It’ll be wise to describe the girl who was standing next to me for I couldn't go ahead without doing so. She was..... well she was unl...

one of these days...

With the increasingly crawling night, I could feel the tension rising. It was a beautiful summer evening; we were sitting in a park with no other living soul in sight. I was looking into her eyes and she was into mind. We were silent of course, but the conversation that was going between us was beyond anything words could ever express. She was sad as usual, trying to break free from the argument that was raging inside her head. I could clearly see her dilemma, on one side were her dreams, her desires, on the other side the chains imposed by society. But how was I any different, I was fighting my own war. Is it right to say anything to her, now that we both know that it’s never gonna happen between us. I tried to look in a different way, at anything else, but how could u not look at someone who’s inside your head. I looked at her again, but this time in her eyes I saw something different, something mischievous, her gaze was a soul penetrating one and it was asking a question. It wa...
